Dear Stephen Akpe,
It is of great interest to notice how powerful the difficult conflicts that build on value differences are.
This pertains also to more recent developments in Europe for instance in Scandinavia where many people have belittled such differences then in fact perhaps even allowing things to go on that have generated added difficulties and friction and conflicts. For instance Denmark has passed law enabling the state to withdraw citizenship of people who actively undermine the Danish state and culture for instance by ‘radically’ promoting sharia law as ‘jihadists’ and the Danish Police has captured people that seemingly were peaceful immigrants with bombs etc. It seems as if oil and water can’t mix on some issues.
It looks to me as that some Islamic religious teachings are very focused on the state, on how government and education is run and is based on groups. Where as for instance the Lutheran churches in Scandinavia even though they have in the past been state churches respect human rights, and that individuals be allowed to take decisions themselves regarding their religious outlook and practice or lack thereof. To me it seems that many modern people in Scandinavia have a hard time to understand why religion should be so state focused and why individuals would want to be so tightly knit to group decision making.
I fear that these will be some of the main issues in the future in the West and that is why I find your discussion so very relevant and informative.
Do you foresee any solutions regarding fundamental value differences driven in part by different religious outlook?
The discussion in the Nordic countries is very difficult as many people do not want to recognize that there is any conflict at all or any value differences to be discussed. And then there are also people in the minority who may be racist or xenophobic or others that may have legitimate fears of foreign cultures with value systems that are in opposition in some fundamental ways to their own.
I myself have become more interested in the Ottoman Empire and the Balkan states because of looking into how people could coexist there with different religious outlooks. Regrettably in those countries there have also been horribly serious armed and other conflicts where religion has been blamed as a factor.

Dear Stephen,
thanks a lot, your speech allows us to appreciate how education is at the core of all human questions, everywhere.
When we allows to eradicate education or we give power to somebody to control it, we lose and made damages.
