Copyright and Author Responsibility

1. Copyright ownership

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, copyright in articles, papers, essays and other contributions remains with the respective author. Submission or publication on the WMO platform does not transfer copyright to WMO or to the platform operator.

2. Licence to WMO

By submitting content for publication, the author grants the World Mediation Organization (WMO), operated by Daniel Erdmann, a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for the period necessary to operate and maintain the publication and platform, to host, store, reproduce, format, display, make available, distribute and archive the submitted content in connection with WMO’s website, journal, educational and professional platform activities. This licence includes technical adaptations necessary for publication and display, but does not transfer ownership of copyright.

Any use beyond these purposes, including separate commercial licensing, republication in a third-party product or material alteration of the work, requires a separate legal basis or the author’s permission unless permitted by law.

3. Author warranties and responsibilities

The author is responsible for ensuring that submitted content:
(a) is original or is submitted with all necessary permissions and licences;
(b) does not infringe copyright, database rights, trademarks, privacy, personality or other third-party rights;
(c) accurately identifies quotations, sources, references, images and other third-party materials;
(d) does not contain unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory or otherwise prohibited material; and
(e) complies with applicable academic, professional and legal standards.

4. Third-party materials

Authors must obtain and retain permissions for third-party text, images, charts, photographs, datasets and other protected material where required. Authors must clearly identify material that is not their own and provide complete attribution.

5. Editorial review and removal

WMO may review submitted content for suitability, formatting, legal concerns and compliance with publication standards. WMO may refuse, edit for technical or stylistic reasons, temporarily restrict or remove content where reasonably necessary, including following a credible rights complaint or legal notice. Authors should be consulted before substantive editorial changes where practicable.

6. No transfer of responsibility

The author’s responsibility under these terms does not exclude or limit any legal obligations of WMO or the platform operator. WMO will handle notices of potentially unlawful content in accordance with applicable law.

7. Author identification

The author’s name and other agreed attribution information may be displayed with the published contribution. Authors should not submit personal data about third parties without an appropriate legal basis.
