I am a law student at KIIT School of Law, Bhubaneswar, with a strong academic interest in mediation, moot court advocacy and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. I have actively engaged in mediation practice by participating in intra-institutional mediation competition, where I secured a position among the top thirteen negotiating pairs. I aspire to further develop my skills by participating in national and international mediation and ADR competitions. Alongside my practical exposure, I have undertaken research across diverse legal and interdisciplinary areas under the guidance of academic societies and faculty members. These experiences have reinforced my determination to pursue rigorous research. My motivation to join the World Mediation Organization stems from a contention that peaceful dialogue remains one of the most effective tools for resolving complex disputes. In an era marked by persistent geopolitical tensions and the growing threat of armed conflict, I believe that mediation is an inclusive and peace-oriented approach to address contemporary global challenges. Through my association with WMO, I seek to contribute to and learn from efforts that promote constructive dialogue and sustainable peaceful dispute resolution among states.

I am a first year law student currently pursuing my law degree from KIIT School of Law. I am deeply interested in Mediation and Moot Court activities and take active part in the respective societies in my university. I am passionate about Mediation and ADR and want to potentially pursue a career in it. I have taken part in research related activities before and written research papers in the capacity of assignments for my university. The reason I want to join WMO is because I take keen interest in topics like Human Rights and Peacekeeping efforts and believe that mediation and conciliation provide the necessary and hasty solution that litigation often fails to bring. I also dabble in International relations and enjoy understanding the complexities of a multipolar world where arbitration and mediation become all the more important.

I am currently pursuing my legal education at The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata—one of India’s premier national law universities. My academic journey so far has been marked by a strong foundation in legal theory, complemented by practical experience and a sustained interest in issues relating to justice, human rights, and international legal frameworks. I have interned with national-level legal aid organisations, where I engaged in case research, drafted legal documents, and worked on matters involving access to justice, undertrial prisoners, and the legal rights of marginalised communities, including transgender individuals and survivors of violence. These experiences allowed me to witness the challenges faced by vulnerable groups within the justice system and strengthened my belief in the importance of rights-based legal support and reform. I also interned at a reputed law firm where I was involved in civil litigation matters. My responsibilities included attending client consultations, preparing legal notices, compiling case files, and conducting research on a variety of legal issues. This experience enhanced my ability to understand the practical aspects of litigation and client advocacy. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work under the guidance of a sitting High Court judge. During this internship, I attended courtroom proceedings, assisted in legal research, drafted briefs, and engaged in discussions on statutory interpretation and judicial reasoning. It was a formative experience that deepened my appreciation for the judicial process and the nuanced application of law in complex disputes. Beyond internships, I hold editorial roles in student-led legal societies focusing on criminal justice and international trade. I recently authored a published article titled “Courts, Controversies, and Change: The Supreme Court’s January Chronicle”, which reflects my interest in contemporary constitutional developments and judicial accountability. These combined experiences have helped me cultivate a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and critical analysis. I am particularly interested in global governance, human rights, and mediation frameworks—areas that align closely with the vision and mission of the World Mediation Organisation.
I see WMO as a rare and meaningful platform that blends research with real-world impact. My goal is to contribute intellectually to the global discourse on peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and human rights – not just through legal analysis but also by proposing creative, sustainable solutions. I believe that law and mediation together can redefine how we approach global conflict, and I look forward to being part of this transformative vision at WMO.

I am a first-year master's student at the Florence School of Transnational Governance with a background in political science. I have studied political theory, feminist theory and Middle Eastern Studies and am deeply interested in examining power structures in international relations and the necessity of including minorities and vulnerable groups in conflict resolution. My academic background in political theory, feminist theory and Middle Eastern Studies has equipped me with a holistic understanding of international power structures and the subsequent need for inclusivity - both of states and marginalized civil society groups - in building sustainable and equitable peace. As part of the World Mediation Organization, I wish to contribute this perspective and actively work toward fostering dialogue and lasting solutions for global conflict resolution.

French-Belgian national, growing up in Belgium, Australia, the Netherlands, France and now in Italy. I am fluent in French and English, with Italian in the works. In 2021, I completed a French Baccalaureate in Den Haag and went on to study Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. Today, I am a graduate public policy student at the European University Institute, STG. Through my passion for diplomacy, I spent a year conducting research and writing reports on Australian foreign policy for Anne Genetet, ex-member of the French National Assembly for the 11th constituency for French residents in 49 countries overseas. Still relevant today, I researched labouriously the ongoing negotiations and deals with NATO countries on military cooperation in the Pacific Ocean. Through my academic experience, I have used theory to connect and explain the deeper sources and implications of geopolitical disputes and have developed tools for modelling and comparing conflicts. My interest in joining the World Mediation Organisation is driven by my belief in the transformative power of culturally sensitive, inclusive, and comprehensive mediation practices. I strongly advocate for increased dialogue, empowering individuals at the local level while laying the groundwork for a more cooperative and interconnected global community. As such, the WMO's task ahead is enormous and I intend for my work here to be meaningful and cooperative.

I have attended several training and certificate programs in Human Rights, Mediation, and ADR. I am pursuing my Ph.D. in mediation and Conflict Resolution at Euclid University. I worked at the Ministry of Justice, Lagos, Nigeria, for over ten years, after which I relocated to the United States, where I currently work as a special education teacher. The nook and corner of the world seem to spew up violence and chaos. All the demarcation of the world and its continents has had its share of violence and terror. We have all seen, experienced, and endured pain and suffering, either caused by our own hands or inherited. Peace appears unachievable in a world of chaos and violence. Therefore, saying “A world without peace” sounds more reasonable than saying “A peaceful world.” However, peacemakers have not given up on the world! Mediators are called the Sons of God! Every resolved conflict moves us to peace on earth. “Every drop of water matters in an ocean.” The world can know peace, and “there is a possibility of Peace in conflict.”

I’m grateful to serve as a Mediator at McDevitt Mediation Center, a company I founded in 2011 after leaving my position as Circuit Court Magistrate Judge in Northwest Indiana, roughly forty miles from downtown Chicago. I refer to myself as a Peacemaker because I find it much more descriptive of how I approach my efforts to help people resolve conflict; that, and the fact that most people have no idea what a mediator is. I help people involved in legal disputes to resolve their differences on their own terms, rather than asking a judge or jury to decide their fate. I’m honored to have worked with lawyers and their clients from all over the country in nearly every type of legal dispute, including complex personal injury and wrongful death cases, medical and legal malpractice, corporate litigation, municipal disputes, workplace issues, contracts, and eminent domain, to name a few. My mission is to bring peace to the parties by offering them a faster and less expensive solution than going through the court system. It’s my nature to inject humor into everything I do. In my practice that’s often difficult because many of our cases involve death, injury and personal and business financial disruption and ruin. Our Wall of Fame is an example of my effort to encourage an atmosphere of cordiality and joy. When litigants enter our mediation center, the first thing they see is that walls are covered in 8” by 10” framed photographs of people, mostly lawyers, shaking hands or having their arms around each other. The Wall started as a joke a few years ago when two attorneys, Tim Schafer and Bruce Clark, were at my office for Court-ordered mediation in a case involving serious personal injury. Mr. Schafer arrived at my office in a white Rolls Royce, and Mr. Clark jokingly told him that he would give him a gift if the case settled. Later that morning the case did settle, and Mr. Schafer asked about the gift. Mr. Clark took us out to the parking lot where he had installed a 'Bruce Clark and Associates' license place holder on Mr. Schafer's Rolls. I took their photo crouching behind the car, mounted it in an 8 x 10 frame and hung it on the wall in my Center. Eventually, another attorney asked how he could get his photo on the Wall, and I told him if he settled his case I'd put his photo on the Wall, too. The Wall now has hundreds of photos, which I also display on my social media pages. Having helped to settle thousand of cases, I welcome the opportunity to help you to resolve your disputes (and get your photo on our Wall).
